Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Articles

Manuscript Guidelines

  • The research should be submitted in a Word document with all pages numbered, ensuring the total does not surpass 15 pages, including appendices and references.
  • The research submission should include a dated request form, signed by the researcher, attesting that the work has not been previously published or submitted to any other journal or conference.
  • The research can be submitted through the Journal's web portal, provided it is sent as a Microsoft Word document. The editor will notify the researcher regarding the suitability of the research for publication.
  • To standardize font types, we use Microsoft Word or any later version mentioned in the standard application. For English text, Times New Roman is the preferred font, while Simplified Arabic is used for Arabic text.
  • Ideally, titles should not exceed three in number. The primary title should be center-justified, size 16 bold, and positioned at the top of the abstract. This is followed by the secondary title, also centered. For subheadings and researcher names, use size 14 bold font.
  • For English text, secondary titles should be aligned to the left of the paper with each word starting in uppercase. In contrast, for Arabic text, the secondary title should be aligned to the right, following the right-to-left reading direction.
  • Leave one space between paragraphs and before each main and secondary title.
  • The research manuscript is written in size 14 font, whether in English or Arabic. For titles related to figures and illustrations, use a size 12 regular font.

Research Paper transcript

The research paper text should include the following sections:

  • A brief review of previously completed studies.
  • The problem, objectives, and hypothesis of the research.
  • The case study.
  • An ending that reflects the most important results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • List of references and appendices.

Abstract

  • Include the research title, researcher(s) name, academic rank, university, department, and email address. Two abstracts are required: one in Arabic and one in English, each not exceeding 150 words.
  • The abstract should highlight the main points of the paper, emphasizing crucial new information. It should be placed immediately after the title. If there's an abstract in another language, it should follow the first one, with the entire first page dedicated exclusively to the abstracts.
  • Keywords should be provided below both the English and Arabic abstracts, and they shouldn't consist of more than five terms.

Tables and Figures

  • Illustrations should fit within a one-column A4 format, with fonts and numerals clearly printed in size 12, consistent with the article's text.
  • Tables and figures should be embedded within the manuscript in a sequential order. Each title for an illustration or figure should be precise and adequate, and it should not be encased in a frame. Place figure titles at the bottom, while table titles should appear at the top. Number tables and figures based on their sequence in the manuscript.

References

Generally, in-text citations should follow the (Author, Date, Page) format. Under the "References" section at the manuscript's conclusion, list all references alphabetically by the author's surname as follows:

  • For citations from periodicals within the text, use the (Author, Date, Page) format. When detailing periodical references, list them as: author’s last name, then first name and/or initials, article title, periodical title, volume number, issue number (if applicable), and year of publication.
Example: John, David. "Engineering Conservation." Saturday Review, Vol. 45, No. 6, 2012.
  • Book citations within the text should adopt the (Author, Date, Page) style. References for books should encompass: author’s last name, first name and/or initials, book title, publication city, publisher, and publication year. Avoid using shorthand references such as "Same Source," "Previous Source," "Ibid," and so on.
Example: George, Hamilton. *Critical Approaches to Engineering*. Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey: Prentice-Hall, Inc., 2012. pp. 250-251.
  • For Online References: Start with the author’s family name or last name, followed by the first name and/or initials, then the publication year, article title (online), journal title, issue or website name, page numbers, link, publication city, publisher, publication year, and the access date.
Example: David, John. 2012. "Islamic Architecture in Egypt" (online). Engineering Journal, pp. 12-13. URL: http://www.Engineeringeducation.com. Accessed on: 20/02/2020.
